Seniors have been taking part in the Song Festival since 1963. 60 years. Full of the joy of meeting. Full of togetherness. Full of song. Not without difficulties, not without trials, but still making it through the years, bringing song alongside us. Generation after generation, generation after generation, we have been infecting each other with the madness of being in a choir, because then and only then can the indestructible tradition live in eternity. “The River Carries the Water” is part of our immeasurable gratitude to our seniors for the fact that our traditions don’t have to be forced into the present, that they come alongside our seniors, flowing together with joy. The concert will feature not just senior choirs from throughout Latvia, but also dance groups, kokle players and beloved soloists.
