The Festival is like one big musical score. Many different colours, tiimbres, accents, dynamics. The wind band has a loud voice within this score. In this concert, Latvia’s best wind bands will play the original works of Latvian composers, which have been written for the concert hall stage — works which have been significant to the development of Latvian wind bands and the expansion of their repertoire.
The participating wind bands will be Auseklītis, Fanfara, Riga Technical University Student Wind Band SPO, the University of Latvia Wind Band and the Madona City Wind Band, while Latvian wind band conductors will unite to form a conductors’ orchestra specially for this concert.
