For Latvians, folk costumes are the people’s cultural code and a symbol of national identity. To improve the national self perception, boost our knowledge regarding how to make or compile a successful folk costume, and to improve the dress culture of the Song and Dance Festival participants, the Parade of Latvian Folk Costumes will be taking place for the sixth time since 1998.
