The river of time flows between two shores: the eternal and the earthly. The distinct name and melody of a folk song act like ferrymen in the river of time, which flows through time: past the twists and turns of the big events of an era, through summers, winters and autumns, through storms, always keeping its identity as ferryman and transporter.
The sound of the kokle has always been heard alongside the folk song, so the concert is based on the values of the folk song, nature and kokle player; it is based on pieces which display the multifaceted nature of the kokle sound and features the performances of the opuses of Latvian composers from various eras.
